Taking deposits on the carriers as they are going into production this week. This version will be made to fit 94, 95 and clear the brake light bar that is on the 97s and also a bottle opener .

I'm interested, but I currently have a Mantec spare tire carrier. I am not thrilled about the idea of drilling new holes and having to repair/cover up the holes for the Mantec. Can the carrier use the same mounting points/holes as the Mantec carrier?

mantec

Are the mantec hinges in different spots than the carrier shown? My thought is yes and they are just to the right of the SW door correct?

For the mantec carrier you will have two holes drilled in the top capping close to the door and multiple holes in the rear cross member. You can just put the two bolts in the capping. I probably would make sure the holes are painted properly and that the bolts get a good seal.

Now the only upsetting thing is to use Clay's carrier you have drill more holes in the body but if this is the route you decide to go, odds are you won't be removing it so it shouldn't bother you.

Mid point of production so please let me know ASAP if you are interested in a rack as I think I can squeeze a few more in.

jerry can mounts

Justin,
One or 2 jerry cans, as I was going to a single mount.

Ideally two, but stability would be more important than an extra can.

ROW Carrier

Basically the tire needs to come over toward the middle on the current version in order for the upper, I think brake light, to be visible. That will put more weight on the body capping. Then adding 2 cans gets pretty heavy if the cans are on the left side of the tire - toward the center. The good thing is that the carrier is latched to the crossmember so that helps secure the load but we don't want to hang to much weight out from the capping. There is a backing plate included which I would recommend securing to the internal roll cage for an NAS truck but for a ROW I may also change the backing plate so it secures to the tub as well. I will keep you posted.

Also interested in the ROW version. Any new info on it would be great. I would also like to retain the jerry cans.

J.,
We are finishing up the NAS version right now, then the step bumpers and will circle back on the ROW version. I don't think we can get 2 jerry cans due to how much weight is going to be over the end of the carrier but will try.
