SG 3-link

So it has been fun but I have decided it may be time to let the 3 link go on to a new home.. Was going to chop it up to make it work with a toy hi pinion but I think I'll just sell it instead.. Not to mention I have been driving on the highway more often. Bought it not to long ago from Denny at HLC... This is a complete original unit with SG's crossmember, links, track bar box and axle mounts.. 100% bolt on. Would like to get around $700 for it.

Also have a center link for a 5" lift made my Mongo - 2.5 .250 wall with a brand new ballistic orbital joint (or both if you're willing to pay) for $125

Will accept RTE radius arms for 5" lift as partial trade.

Can post pics if needed. Will need time to remove it from truck once I find a serious buyer.

The crossmember will need to be modified to make it work on a 90, as the disco frame is different.

Really? Did not know that - how is it different? I knew it was difficult to fit on a TDI for some reason.

I have the Rovertym ones for a 4 inch lift, and I may be interested in a trade.

I have no idea. in the low hundred(s) look up how much they got for and I will make mine cheaper

I had it on the truck and it is in great condition as it was never hooked up to the 3-link. The 3-link is mint and in storage. I need to put a 300Tdi 3-link member on there soon.

I'm interested, but would like to see what's involved in making it work with my tdi. I assume it's just a matter of fabbing up a different cross member.

From what I remember, I think tdi guy has the installation of it the build thread of his personal D90.

Yea Randy has one on his tdi 90. There was a thread on pirate a while ago about fitting it on a TDI. I think the exhaust was the main issue and the D1 cross member can be made to work with some drilling like lane mentioned. I can take measurements off of it if you'd like.

Is it the newer kit with poly bushings and heim joints?

Afaik SG never made a kit with heim joints. The kit has two upper links that bolt to radius arm mounts and a poly at the axle. The center link that comes with it is a terraflex link. I have a center link that is custom made (see above) and twice the size of the stock link. What's your email??

A few threads on this board mention an updated kit with new hardware.

Hmm weird, they may be talking about the better terraflex center link. with an orbital on one end.. Since the center link takes a lot of the braking force I decided to go big. The ballistic joint on the frame side is solid and helps with axle wrap. Withthe stock joint you can feel some of the axle wrap but that's just because it's all made of poly. Lots of info here http://discoweb.org/forums/showthrea...ghlight=3-link

A couple pics of it on the floor assembled so you can see what it looks like and then the HD center link, and installed on the truck (sorry it's so dirty)
