Series wheels & bias ply tires

Before I run these off to the dump I thought I'd post them here and see if anyone wants them.

Five 5.5x16x33 Land Rover rims (NRC 7578 - tube type, I think) with 7.50x16 bias ply tires mounted. Tires are well used but still have some usable tread and 4 of the 5 seem to be holding air.

These came off of an ex-military 110 pickup, but would also work well on Series trucks, as long as the tires are suitably narrow.

Paint on rims is home-spray job.

FREE if anyone's interested, but would have to pick them up in person within a few days (35 miles west of Boston, MA).

Please PM me or email to: mark.neil AT verizon.net

I'm sorry too! I hate to see these go to the dump if someone can use 'em, but they're just taking up space in my shed at this point . . . .

Holey cheeses Mark PLEASE don't throw them away! Rover stuff should be preserved. Is there any way you can get them to the Birthday Party or something so that they can make their way down here to my Home for Wayward Random Rover Stuff?

Pedro, you should do a Boston road trip and get all that stuff. Oh wait, you already have a bunch of steelies....

Hey, Bill. Believe me, I understand your sentiments completely, but I have been "keeping" these wheels around for years, and their time has now come!!

If you or someone on this forum works out some way to get them down to you, I'm happy to oblige. They're heavy old bias ply tires, though . . . the ones they used to put on British military trucks. I think these came off of a military 110 pickup I owned at one time - - squaddies painted them (by brush, of course!) flat olive drab, and at some point in the past, I tried to liven 'em up a bit by taping them off and painting them as close to Alpine White as I could.

We may have a guy in NJ interested in these, since it looks like the rest of your wheels/tires are heading this way already. I just sent him the link, so we'll see - it would make it easy on your to get all of these out of the way to us.

Great, Josh. Thanks. Just let me know if that looks feasible and I'll hang onto them for awhile longer!

There's also always the free section on craigslist...better than going to the dump.
