Post Series IIA 88 Rolling Chassis and 2.5 Turner engine, tub, drivetrain, etc

I have a nice condition 88 rolling chassis for sale. I am willing to separate the engine from the roller, and possibly the tub or any other large items, but am hoping to sell it as complete as possible. This does not come with a title (the previous owner promised to send this, but I have yet to see it) so it will come with a bill of sale only. It is located in Carmel Valley, CA. Local (ish) delivery is possible, otherwise it will need to picked up where it sits for a sale. Included is the following:

- Rust free nice condition series IIa 88" chassis. There is a dent in the transmission crossmember, and small rust hole in the rear crossmember, as pictured. There are no other rust issues with the frame, it appears to have been stripped and painted. I can repair these two small issues if the buyer requires. Some of the highlights include:

- Turner 2.5L petrol engine, no miles since rebuild.

- Series IIa trans and t-case, which seem to work well without issues

- Saginaw Power steering (I think) complete and ready to use with nice condition power steering box, as well as a power steering pump mated to the turner engine, and the reservoir plumbed to match.

- New Parabolic front springs, newer standard rear springs

- OME front springs, nice condition rears

- Braided brake hoses

- Front and rear drivehafts

- Nice condition 88 tub with NO rust or corrosion. The left side tub panel appears to have been replaced, as there are hammer rivets holding the tub side to the tub itself.

- Nice condition seatbox, although it has holes in the front drive side for a battery cutoff switch, as well as a battery cable pole box.

- New britpart exhaust from downpipe to tailpipe

- I don't plan to include the wheels/tires, so a buyer will need to provide these, unless they are negotiated into the sale.

- I also have the trans tunnel, a defender bulkhead to series tunnel adapter, series floor panels

- I have a number of other series parts for sale listed in other for sale threads.

Asking $4300. PM, or e-mail me at mack.crouch@gmail.com for any questions. Thanks for looking

Mack

Just to add, I have many other series parts that I'm happy to sell, many more that what I have already posted. Almost enough parts to make this a complete truck... Pretty much everything but a top and a bonnet.

Do you have a liftgate? And wasn't this the same hybrid that was on eBay recently from SoCal?

I had a few liftgates but I sold them recently. I may be selling a third one that is off my truck. Pm me if interested.

Yes it is the hybrid from eBay.

I would love a liftgate! I have an excellent rear door for trade also with grab handle tire carrier and trim pieces. Lovely door but want liftgate.

Mack,

What's the story behind the DEFENDER 88 sticker in the back?

Was that custom made or LR had a Stage One type of SWB truck?

The story is basically that the previous owner took a series, and put on some defender wings, front hood and grille, bulkhead, windshield, a shortened d90 roof, and defender dash, but left it on a leafsprung series 88 frame with mostly series drivetrain. So I bought the truck for the left hand drive defender dash, and a handful of other parts. I'm selling the rest to help finance another project. He had it on eBay with a high reserve, and when it didn't sell he lowered the buy it now significantly and I snatched it up. I think he needed the cash.

Liftgate needs the unobtanium inner hinge pin brackets. Sometimes these appear on ebay uk, but I wouldn't plan on mounting any liftgate until you have those on your workbench.

I would be willing to sell it separate, but shipping would be expensive. I can put it on a pallet or make a crate for it if you could figure out a cost effective way to ship. I did already receive an offer of $2000 by a semi local guy. Thanks

Are those the mounts that stay on the truck? I have those mounts already if that's what you are referring too.

Macker, what are you looking to get for the liftgate?

He's probably referring to the hinge brackets that attach to the liftgate itself.

I haven't decided for sure if/when I will be selling it, but I will list it for sale once I'm certain (it's currently on my truck).

I'm sure by now the tub is long gone but if by chance you still have it, please let me know.

Thanks

Shame this truck was broken up just for the LHD dash. I think it looked good before.

Worse yet, shame I missed the killer deal on the engine!
