When I build bicycle wheels its good practice to have the logo of the hub clearly visible thru the valve hole. I also mount my bike tires so the logo is centered on the valve stem - helps find the valve quickly.

Maybe he wanted the logo by the valve stem? If he really wanted the BFG to be readable at all 4 tires and he is an engineer for the state - holy shit!

This statement got me laughing... sounds like this owner needs a 'tire spinning maintenance plan' for $40/month.

As I am a novice mechanic (oil and brakes), I am encountering MANY opportunities for questions; alas, Josh's advice of "Google is your friend" has prevented me from making some of these mistakes.

Interestingly though, I was at the tire shop last month and the man before me was complaining that the store installed whitewall tires on the right side of his wife's SUV and regular letters out tires on the left. The employee was confused and asked how long ago they did the installation... 6 months prior. The employee was certain that wasn't the case; the man stood there and sent the employee out to see for himself. When he returned, the employee explained they were not "whitewalls", but that his wife parks too close to the curb. I laughed, which got the man more upset and management had to get involved to explain this was he and his wife's problem and not the store's error.

So it should allow a 2.2 Transit to fit in my Defender, and just bypass all the electrics?!

Not the 2.2, but the 3.2 Transit engine should be fine
