RRC 3.9 ECU PRC9249 - For Sale

Used RRC 3.9 ECU for sale. I bought this several years ago after being told I was being sent a LWB 93 4.2L one. (Which this is not). The seller dissappeared after the purchase was completed and the erroneous part was received. After sitting in my tool box for some time, perhaps one of you can use it?

A part # search indicates it's for a 93-95 3.9L RR Classic. (Please verify for your application!) After getting stiffed, I did open the case and verify that the EFI chip is still present under the chip cover. It should work 4.0 in the correct application.

$45 shipped sound fair?

Thanks,
Murph

Chris,
The good thing about the 3.9RRC brain is it moves the fuel cut past 85mph which I have found helpful traveling in CA. Good backup as well.

Thanks, Clay.

Yep. I bought several 4.2 ECUs for that reason as well.

I have one in my truck now, and for continued use once I get the 4.6 in my garage swapped into my 94.

Hi, Robert-

Most people who do this just swap the RRC ECU's IC chip into their D90 ECU. I understand that the RRC ECUs have functions not employed in our D90s, but I honestly don't know if swapping in the entire ECU will work properly or trigger check engine lights, as I haven't done it myself. I do know that swapping chips alone works and gets rid of the D90 limiter, as I've done it with 3.9 and 4.2 RRC chips and there are several threads on here about it. (This applies to 3.9L-engined 93 D110s and 94/95 D90s. 97 4.0L Ds are a whole different ball of wax and won't work.)

Can anyone else here chime in on using the whole 3.9L RRC ECU in a 95 D90? Just the chip swap or the whole thing?

Thanks,
Murph

i was hoping to get a spare ECU (whole thing) in case mine gets flooded. Anyone know if it will work w/o triggering lights, etc.
thanks

It will work fine. The brackets holding it down might be different (can't remember on a 1995 what they look like), but who cares as it is in the underseat box anyway.
