got my hitch today!! looks great, but i do have a question. there are two holes on the underside of the hitch, There are two threaded holes on the bottom of the crossmember, do people thread a bolt in there as well? Sorry for the newbie question. ian

If you use the four supplied 1/2" grade 8 bolts to mount the hitch it will be securely installed. There's no harm in adding the two bolts on the underside, but they are not required.

I am glad I just read this thread again, my hitch is on backward also (has been for almost 3 years). Maybe that is why I cannot find a receiver that fits. I have been using it only for my bike rack.

Not to worry, you're in good company. There have been a few people who have managed to install the receiver hitch backwards. I hadn't anticipated this when I originally wrote up the listing so there's no specific warning and it seems to happen from time to time. Go figure.
