Jack,

My receiver is installed and I've already used it.

It is a thing of beauty and a work of art. It looks strong, I suspect the rear cross member will give up before your receiver does.

Two small issues. The included bolts have a larger shank than the threads so won't fit the holes in the cross member. I considered drilling out the holes until I realized the included bolts were too short to use with both the receiver and the pintle hook. I reused the original bolts.

Do I need both? No, but my wife likes the look of the pintle.

You can just open up the holes in the crossmember to accommodate the supplied bolts. The difference in diameter should be minimal and you won't be removing much material. I prefer this due to the much greater strength of the supplied bolts.

In the case of coupling the hitch with the pintle I would just use whatever hardware meets your needs.

I must say you supply nice bolts. Can you source the same in 1 inch longer? Or will I find the same price at my local specialty fastener supply outlet?

To anyone considering a receiver hitch, Jack sells a nice, high quality option.

Mike
