Range Rover Classic upper rear hatch and 3rd row seat

I have a couple of large pieces that I am trying to clear out. I am located one hour east of Portland Oregon in White Salmon WA. I have nearly perfect upper rear hatch. The only issue with this is that the defroster elements don't work. I think someone had tint on it and tried to remove it. This messed up the element. Looking for $150 for this.

I also have a Sorel brown 3rd row rear facing seat. I have the mounting brackets and I believe that I have all of the seatbelt bits for it as well. I am asking $300 for this whole setup. My kids have outgrown it and it is taking up room in the shop.

I could be interested in trades for any cool RRC or 300tdi parts. I would consider shipping but we would have to work out the logistics.

PMs answered. Anyone have any good tips for shipping the upper hatch from WA to CA? It seems crating it might be necessary to get it there in one piece, but it would really add to size and weight.

I've had upper tailgates shipped via Greyhound before from CA to NC for $100.

I also use Fastenal for large items and they always take care of me and the shipments for inexpensive prices.

Thanks for those ideas. How did you pack the hatch? Just sandwiched in heavy layers of cardboard or on a pallet of some sort? Fastenal's website says they only guarantee delivery condition of items on a pallet with nothing hanging over the sides and completely enclosed.

My tailgate that was shipped from Greyhound was bubble wrapped to death and then shrink wrapped. That was all. It could have been put in a bicycle box after that but it wasn't. I actually bought another tailgate recently and we are working on shipping now so I'll keep you posted on how he is shipping it. My new tailgate is only going from VA to NC I think so shouldn't be too challenging.

As for Fastenal, I think it depends. I've showed up with things before to my local store and they've actually wrapped shit for me and sent it. (That's not common). But I've crated things and also palleted things. They don't guarantee but it doesn't mean you can't send it. I think it's all in the way you package things for safety in shipping. If you pack it correctly then you won't have to worry about they F**king it up. (well maybe but that's the risk in shipping sometimes). Maybe build a wood framed box if that makes you feel safer about it. Building wooden boxes and things are relatively easy and don't take a lot of time and I always feel like my shit will get where it needs to get in one piece.

Upper hatch is sold, pending shipping quote and payment.

Working on a trade for the rear seat.

Really appreciate the input on shipping.

Thanks!

Normally, I'd offer to RURR it for you. Actually just pulled a triple for a couple of BC members from SoCal to Vancouver. But with baby #2 due in a couple weeks, I'm currently grounded ;-)

Let me know if the bench falls through. Sounds interesting!

Anyone else in for a potential RURR for the 3rd row seat? It would be from basically Portland OR to Burbank CA, although the buyer said even if it could get into Northern Cal he could pick it up from there.

Just for future info I just dropped the upper hatch at UPS and they packed it and sent it for $130. I have a friend who works there so he gave me a corporate discount of I believe 10%. Hatch is off to it's new home.

If we can't work out RURR I will most likely try Fastenal for the seat.

thanks
Craig
