R380 with bad 2nd synchro

Having Frank (www.roverrepairs.com) replace my R380 in my Red D90, anyone want the old R380 transmission as a core? It is fine other than the worn second syncho. Condition of output splines is unknown. Factory NAS V8 R380. Miles unknown but I believe less than 100k because the D90 came with an LT77 from the factory and has about 120k on it now. Can ship direct to Roadsiderob aka southwestrovers for a rebuild.

Make an offer or to comply with listing rules I will take $500 and I will crate it.

Barry wants this. There is a spider in his 110s R380 that is making a funny noise and its driving him nuts so I think he needs this tranny.

R380

Mr. Rob is hands down a master. I just sent out an R380 for my client and it's perfect. No issues. Came back to me looking brand new. Rebuild with new shift fork, oil pump etc. -- 1400.00. What a steal. Would recommend him to anyone.

I almost sent my G4 Disco to Rob for a pre-purchase inspection...wish I had, he would have told me it had a bad tcase and saved me a lot of $$$...

BTW, I've got a tcase from an '04 Disco with CDL if anyone is interested. I need it out of my garage...sorry for the hijack, Ron.

So the tranny in my 110 is clunky. I wonder if it just needs an adjustment. Backlash maybe. I was looking at the receipt. The last owner put it in at 77,000 miles in 2002. I have 91,000 miles now. Would love to ask the shop to fix it under warranty. 8 years later but come on only 14000 miles.

clunky is probably NOT your transmission. More like a U-joint or front or rear diff or t-case.

clunk

On the clunk issue we just went through this. Is this on a 93 110. Even if the trans was replaced you need to pull out the input gear or (main shaft gear) and check for spline damage. On the early gears they were not cross drilled. So there was a lack of lubrication on the splines. The gears are avail. through your favorite LR parts guy. Part # you want is FTC5089. Let me know if you need pricing. And yes I can beat any dealer out there on it. My 2 cents.

No! B- all you need to do is pull off the inspection or (pto) cover. You will be able to pull it out directly. Check the internals and you should know instantly. It was really only on the early cases. As long as there is no damage to the new trans splines you should be good to go with no clunking. Like New! It really freshens up those trucks. Let me know if I can help.

I would assume since it is a 93 the new style would work.

clunks in 110's are also often the rear axle hubs.

Bad bushing or rear a-frame ball joint. Or a bad t-case.
