Great gadget, I'm in for 2 at least. Also, any chance of having them anodized, black?

Thanks.

Cohbra11, if you're looking to expand to other forums, try Expedition Portal. They'll go nuts for this over there at twice the price. Those guys have no problem dropping $25 on two stickers that say they have a first aid kit and fire extinguisher on board.

I don't plan on having them anodized at this point. Since I'm planning on having the clamp assembly cast, there would be a huge amount of cost added in prepping/polishing the surface so that the anodizing looks right. The thought has crossed my mind though.

I'm still waiting on some quotes to come back but it should be somewhere in the $50-$75 price range. It will all depend on how much the casting process ends up being. Hopefully I'll start getting some of those quotes back today so I can let you guys know.

I am too Bill. I'm not looking to get rich here, (not yet anyway ), and I'm really only adding in a little bit to the cost to make it worth my time right now, which by the way is way less than what my hourly rate would work out to at my day job.

Once I determine that the end result of the product is something that people are truly happy with, and that they are pleased with the quality, I will look at doing another run on these at a little higher price point that I can justify. I am a believer in making profit through high volume and lower cost rather than only selling a few at a really high markup.

Well damn guys, I really thought I would have had at least one quote back today so that I would have a little better idea of how much we're going to be looking at on the prices. Maybe tomorrow.

Keeping my fingers crossed that we'll get a quote today. It's been awfully quiet around here the last two days.

So where do you guys think is the best place to mount a small extinguisher like this??? I'm thinking above left by the seatbelt mount, or maybe right behind the tub bulkhead (behind cubby box..) Is there room for something like this near the footwells or dashboard?

I don't have a defender myself so I'm trying to remember where a good space for it would be. I would say if there's room for it, I would mount it directly in front of the drivers seat with the clamp facing upward and parallel to the seat. This way you could reach straight down and pull it straight up and out of the clamp if you we're inside the vehicle. If you we're outside the vehicle you could slide it out of the side of the clamp.
