Interested but IMHO 3" is too small. I have a 3" and another that is 3.25" but longer as well and probably twice the capacity. It might be worth doing a survey of what the standard diameters out there are.

I can rescale the parts very easily. If I can get together enough interest for 50 units, I will very likely make another size, probably for a 5 lb extinguisher. I'm getting interest from some other forums as well.

Right now the biggest hold up is just me being stuck at work in Moab, UT. Not too bad of a place to be stuck at though.

Sorry. I use the "New Posts" link and often don't notice what section a thread is in. Since there wasn't any "I have this and want to sell it for $xx", I didn't realize it was an actual parts for sale thread and felt I was adding value on good vehicle extinguisher sizing.

Nice! I like it.

I've seen another one several times, similar concept, quick releae etc but designed for the racing community, and priced accordingly http://www.ogracing.com/brey-krause-...nguisher-mount

This one looks like it has a more positive locking mechanism that would hold up well in a rollover or impact. But at that price, it's waaaaay out of my league.

Yeah, $230 is a bit ridiculous for a fire extinguisher clamp. As far as I'm concerned, that is too much to spend on an extinguisher, much less, a clamp to hold it. Their clamp still requires you to open a latch before you can remove the extinguisher, plus, it looks like you'd have to slide it out of the top. It looks pretty cool though.

Yes waaaay too much $$$. However it does work really well. There is a small release handle that falls right under your fingers when you go to grab the extinguisher. The main part of the clamp stays on the extinguisher when you hit the release just grab and go. It only takes a fraction of a second longer than if the bottle was sitting there loose. It is very well engineeered, but it comes at a premium price.

$230 is not a premium price when your a$$ is at stake. The piece of mind knowing that your fire extinguisher is exactly where it should be and readily accessible by a simple one handed release, no matter how ugly your crash or busted up your arm, is worth every penny. This guy, who did a few endovers at ~ 110mph, was knocked silly, but his fire extinguisher was waiting by his side, just in case. OG sells quality stuff.

Not saying a Defender is like being on the track, but crashes happen and these are known to burn. For $50, Brian's design looks pretty good and far better than the POS I'm using now. Looking forward to trying it out.
