Sounds good. There is not much the two side pieces so not including them isn't really gonna save a lot of money. Besides it would be nice to have all 5 trim parts matching.

o.k. I am down for a set. I am glad someone ran with the ball on this one as I was getting a qoute for $2,000 just to make the freakin molds. Now you would be in great shape if you could come up with a replacment 3rd brake light or something that is really close. You would just need to find the right lense insert.

Well I'm always looking to make new parts so I could possibly make a third break light.

Patrick,
I looked into this and the guys around me that make the mold wanted if I racall about 1500 to do the molding for thermo forming. So If I start taking prepayments for a 3 piece design I would have to have a minimum amount of folks in just to cover tooling. I think I would make the left and right as the dome piece is still available. Is anyone up for just the left and right in ABS Grey pieces close as possible to the original? I now have a set to do the copy thanks to Pendy.

Clay,

I don't need these parts but want to ask a question.

Did you quote the parts in TPO also. It is a much higher quality material. 99 percent of the bumpers in the US are made from TPO (thermo poly olefin). You can get it in the same texture.

Thomas,
If TPO is thermo formed then I am sure I can get a qoute. If not, then please enlighten me on the process .

Clay or Patrick, did the windshield trim pieces ever come to fruition or are you still planning on it? If so, I'm interested and would like to see the pricing and pics when available. Thanks

Rufus,
Not sure what happened to Patrick on this one as he said he had a set but trail has gone cold. I have a call into a local plastic fab and will see if I can get a qoute also on a third brake light shell (like the OEM ones). I will keep you posted working on a top secret project right now .

I have the center dome light, the two sides and the a pillar pieses too. I am also making the dash radio console if anyone is interested. I will try to post pictures in a little bit.

Here is the pricing

All 5 pieces will be $200

The radio console at $50
Not good form to step on someone else's thread like that.
It would be much better if you started your own.

Molds

Good afternoon gents.
looking for the three W/S trim pieces. Has this proj gotten off the ground yet?
also could use some advice from a plastic guy on a project of my own. Im pretty handy with CAD and can do most of the design work.

thanks Ryan

Did anything ever come of this? I know a couple of folks were talking about fabbing the trim. I would be interested.

About a year ago there was a guy LRAIRSPEED I think is his username here, who was making the whole 5- piece kit (or at least talking about it) - might want to start a new thread or PM him.

Let us know what you find out.

That guy is long out of business and had some business practice issues with members here and the Better Business Bureau and the like... buyer beware...

With a name and address, and some guys from San Antonio I expect you could get a refund Aric? Why don't you ask around on the board and see who lives near him?

Unfortunately, no, I still have not received the snorkel or a refund of the $325 from Patrick Edwards ( LRAIRSPEED / Rovagear ).

Sorry for the hijack on this thread. I've posted more information back on the original snorkel thread:

And, yes, if any San Antonio members can help encourage this guy to do the right thing and refund my money and/or stop doing business within the Land Rover community, that would be great.
