Oversized defender radiator

Acquired a couple cores recently and have one I recored available for sale. It is oversized 4 core R-fin style with at least 25% more cooling surface area compared to stock. Have been running defenders with uprated engines and this style radiator with effective cooling. 4.0/4.6 V8s and large cam 3.9V8s as well.

Oil cooler removed. Improves cooling overall when oil cooler is removed from radiator. So this radiator is only a direct fit for 94/95 D90s and 93 D110s. Unless you are willing to convert to external oil cooler on your 97 D90. Then this can work well for you in that case as well. The earlier d's can be converted to remote oil cooler as well if required. Not necessary in my experience.

Please post any questions

The radiator is pictured without the mounting studs or fan shroud tabs installed. It will be equiped with these needed items for a direct fit. Larger housing brackets shown as necessary for the larger radiator core installed.

very interested - so sorta licking - where you going to post a pic?

so basically - I'm doing the cummins swap and was going to have a 4 core built - sounds like this is basically going to be exactly what I need. No oil cooler. What is the inlet/outlet config again? Running a approx 200 - 250hp diesel, so it's a bit of a guess cooling wise, but seems like this should work - and you've dealt with the fit, so that's a win for me. I'll be adding electric fans / custom shroud.

Assuming this fits in tight behind the upper support struts? or is there a gap? (for my intercooler) I have the AC nose, so I can put my IC outside the support struts. Then my AC condenser will probably end up outside the frame on the passenger side.

thoughts?

This is not enough radiator for your swap.

You need a 4" wide radiator made up in Aluminum.

No room for your intercooler piping either this is a full size V8 radiator.

Yes forgot pic thanks

Oh well. OK, thanks - yeah, aluminum is the way I need to go

Might have to run my IC piping out and around too. TBD....

I remember our old mercury which could pull a travel trailor. The radiator was a double radiator to assist in cooling. I have this 300tdi and I bought the exact radiator for it with the oil cooler on it. It runs warmer than I like after making a 1200 mile trip in the heat. What is your suggestion to this matter?

Not sure what your question is.
