NY (5) 285X75 R 16 ssr's on Freestyle alloys

pickup or local delivery only.

Balanced for good running up to 80mph....about all the Tdi can muster.

4-SSR's at 50% tread (right at step in mould on lugs for anyone familliar), probably another 10,000 +miles left in them. The wheels they are mounted on (stock '95 d90) have ALOT of rock rash, and are not pretty. One tire has mud in the bead and leaks 15 psi every two weeks (just have not had the time to break the bead). One tire has a plug that has never leaked.

1-never touched ground, It's wheel has no rock rash from me...I can't remember exactly how pretty it is as it is stored under a platform in the back of my truck.

Full set of lugnuts with stainless caps. (again some dings, but all the caps are intact and fit into a lugwrench)

I'm switching to 35X10.5 ssr's

$550.00, $400.00 without the spare.

Can the wheels still be used for highway driving (2-3 hours ~60 MPH) to get to the trail-head?

Thanks,
Loic.

yep, no probems. they did a run out to Old Florida Road last weekend. (2hr's away) As I wrote...they are fine up to 80mph. I just took them off monday. if interested get back to me quick, as i may be trading them for something.

the wheels are just scratched up, no damage other than cosmetic.

And they go very nicely on a 7 or 8 in wheel.

I thought I was the only one. Although mine leaks down in about 3-4 days. I am almost tired enough of having to put air in it that I might consider getting it fixed.

Thx for 285/75x16, have you got pictures in 35x10.5x16?

Is the white 90 in the wallpaper d-90 forum is in 35x10.5? (It seems, no?)

Are you happy with this pattern?
Is it quiet on 2 or 3 hours highway @ around 60 - 70 mph?
Is it good on mud, rocks, ice, snow & sand?
How many miles can I expect doing with one set (25000 miles? or less)

Thanks a lot...

I'm very happy. They perform well in what I've given them so far and fit with only trimming of the arches. I have run all the surfaces above and they have outperformed all other I was with at the time. Although I have not been doing difficult trips this year.

Noise....You can hear them over the other noises, but I don't find them loud. They run smooth enough at speed. No idea about tread life. They seem to be wearing fine so far.

Thx for your return, one question or two more :
- Is the Tdi enough to push those tyre (on road and off road, is the truck standard ration transfer and pignion gear)
- Half shaft standard too?

Thx Red90

If you haven't re-geared the 35's might not be the best size and I would stick to the 285's. Also if you haven't upgraded your axles I would stick to the 285's especially if you plan to go off road with it.
I have the 285 SSR's on my Tdi and absolutely love them! This deal sounds very reasonable.

The picture of the defender on the wall paper is my vehicle . The tires are Super swamper tsl radial 36 x 12.5 16 on wolf wheels . The picture is my new setup approximately 2 weeks old and the tires are bf goodrich KM2 LT345/75R16/D both tires are 36 inches tall . I run 3 inch rovertym springs and with the alloy wheels spacers are required . The KM2 are very quite compared to the swampers and balanced very well .Hope this helps .

No problems at all with power and I'm running a 1.2 transfer case. Actually I find the higher gearing better on the highway.

I have an early "HD" 23S rear axle with a Detroit locker. They are holding up so far. I wouldn't suggest it with the later model 24 spline shafts and aftermarket ones are certainly a good idea.

Jorge - that truck looks sick with the big 'ol BFG's on 'er. I've got some 285's SSR's sitting in the garage that need to be mounted when I get a chance. Let us know how those KM2 work off road.
