Need left hand swivel housing from rhd

I need a left side swivel housing from a rhd defender or disco for a project I'm working on. Anybody have one laying around?

I do. No idea on value - not cheap to ship though. Let me know what you think.

If you do not match both sides up you may have different bearings in each side. You can find some used Disco stuff and get a matching set pretty cheap.

Shit - just realized I am going to need one for an upcoming project as well.

I know there was a difference between the Disco and NAS Defender swivels and swivel housings but what about UK RHD ones? I would love to get one with a Railco top bearing.

I have a RHD defender front axle with a bent housing. Shipping from Oregon would be $$.

The swivel housings are different between the Disco and the Defender and even in the Defender years. Most if not all of the bottom bearings are the same but the top bearing and pin can differ. Also the earlier Defenders have a longer housing and stub axle. You also have 1o spline vs 24. The Disco Parts are easier to source but you have to plug in the ABS sensor hole in the top pin, leave the sensor in or source the Defender top pin that doesn't have the ABS sensor hole. In the end I have found it easier to go to a junk yard and get a Disco set up. If you do that you can get everything that you need and might be able to score some nicer swivel Balls.

Good advice - not so easy to find a RHD Discovery in a junkyard in the USA though.

Agree - thanks Capt Milks for all the info. I had an idea that was the case but wasn't sure.

Probably a shit ton of the Disco left side swivels in the UK but no so much in the US. Unless there were some US Discos that came with a LHD outer swivel?

I have seen some of the earlier Discos that had both the RHD and LHD swivel housings but probably would be hard to find one I would guess. I know I have some earlier RHD stuff when I did a conversion but it is the older 10 spline stuff.
I am sure you could get a used one from the UK but shipping would be costly.
