A friend of mine runs a land rover / range rover specialty repair shop. Based on his experience, they are capable of stopping anywhere, anytime, at any cost.

I don't know about the brakes, only their unreliability.

The winch that was on it was a Superwinch X9 which is available with a unused 3/8" steel cable. Again not looking to ship but Ron has been a trouble free purchaser.
