So what ended up being your transfer case leak if you didn't use the seal kit?

Did you just "right stuff" the access plate? I'm planning to do mine.

What gives with the rear pinion? Breather tube clogged?

Used right stuff as the paper gasket seemed dumb.

Not sure about rear pinion. I cleaned it up to see if it is really leaking or just years of grime.

Next job is to replace the steering pump and line again.

Actually depending on how back the tcase was leaking, you could get blowback on the rear diff that makes it look like the pinion seal is leaking (when it is not).

Arbitrary question - any idea what you torqued the tcase bolts to to snug it back up? I plan to do mine this week but haven't been able to find that...not that it's a huge deal, I can just wing it but figured you're anal retentive as f*ck so you may know.

Ha I am anal retentive as fuck but didn't use the torque wrench on the plate.

My access plate has been leaking for five years so it probably was just that.

I feel lucky and shocked it was just that.

I filled everything with royal purple btw and notice no difference but it shifted well before so I guess there is no reason I would see a difference.
