That is true. But I am comparing the price with the "old" BFG KM. I am pretty sure I had found about $180 (or less?) / tire mounted and balanced locally.
But you're right, if you compared "apple to apple" then this is still worth it.

$180? I don't think for this size... Cheapest price I was able to find was around Xmas time, 4wheelparts.com had 10% off and free shipping, ended up being $193.50 ea tire... every place else, at least for the last year, has been charging at least $200-250 w/o shipping for the regular BFG KM's.

All depends, I mean, I wouldn't spend $175/ea tire if I didn't really need tires... but if you're tires are worn or you're looking to upgrade to that size, this is still a smoking deal in my opinion..

I bought 5 of these tires. This is a true deal. When I ordered them on Tuesday they still had about 90 left. Shipping was $44 per tire.

By the way you have to mention you saw them for 125 ea as they had advertised elsewhere for 130ea. If you go to BFG's site and click on this series and the little video that pops up is Bill Burk wheeling these tires on his green 90. On BFG's site they don't show this size as being available yet.

I'm going to run these on my 110 tdi on "deep dish" alloys. Hoping they won't make the gearing too tall......

Ok, someone school my lame ass. How high and how wide are these? I just can't keep tire profiles straight in my head. I would think this would be about 32", but is it fat or skinny?

32.8 x 11.22

width = section width (285), converted from mm to inches

height = ((section width * aspect ratio * 2)/25.4) + Rim Diameter
so;
((285 * 0.75 * 2)/25.4) + 16 = 32.83inches

I have the 285/75's on my stock d90 which most likely has saggy suspension [I have replacement, just waiting for a warm day] ... It seems like the only place they rub is the front radius arms... so a 1" spacer eliminates that.

I don't even know if any of these tires are left....

before I check, however, I need to know:

how long can you store tires without problems? The tires I have now do not need replacing and I really don't feel like wasting them so I was thinking of buying a set of these and sitting on them until I needed to replace my current set... any thoughts?

Brad,

What kind and size tires do you currently have? I may be interested in purchasing your used tires.

bfg mud terrains 255/85 r16 low miles and I just had them siped for better wet/ice traction. They're good tires in a nice size on a d90 so I'm a little hesitant to jump out of them. I know I wanted to try the 285s in my next tire though and this price point is hard to beat...
