J**p Looking Grill

Ever wanted your Defender to look like a Jeep? Don't miss your chance. I don't know what it's worth or where it came from? Make me an offer...

If you pay the shipping and enclose $50 to eliminate the grill, I'll do the deed:-)
and for Will's benefit- 'Jeeps are great, they taste like chicken'

True, she's no Defender.....but she gets me where I need to go. And in 4 years of ownership she's never left me hanging or stranded......anywhere.

Before picking on Will, some of the newer guys may not know him- he has only been on the board since '95 and is who I bought my first project from back some 12 years ago, and many more D's from when he worked for LR. And who is one of the other crazies who used to drive his 90 daily topless weather be damned
He is a bit of a wheenie though- like when we sat up all night after cruising Great Sand Dunes Nat'l Park and driving up Blanca loaded with camping gear because we were not altitude adjusted...
And then there is the nick name from Jim C. Not trying to defend him at all, he's just a great longterm friend who's had a LR or two, who needs no defense as he is probably the best resource of LR historical data out there- sorry Josh, but Will has you on that one. He knows most of the VIN/ID# references with owner history from having been part of their lineage.
Go get 'um Ninja Will

Dale and Will, I hope my joking about Jeeps didn't offend you. I have no room to talk my wife drives an 08 rubicon unlimited and she loves it. That being said anytime we leave the house together its in the 90. You can see it here: http://eurorestorations.com/Euro_Res...roject_JK.html

I am new to most on the board however I am not new to D90.com. I actually joined in late 97 when I purchased my first 94st. Those were the days, Allan and Mimi Dobbs, Chaque Henry, and others, we were all trying to shoe horn 35's onto our trucks. How times have changed. I did take a few years off while doing work in Mexico. Anyway enough reminiscing and back to making fun of Jeeps!

Lane send me your address so we can get your JK90 ready for EJS.

this thread brings smile after smile for soooo many reasons.
You should have seen Larry Harrell's face when he needed a loaner a few years back, and I let(hahaha) him take the JK on 35s without being regeared- he said it made the 90 seem fast. And we didn't think there was use for Jeeps Will:-)

Brandy's JK has 35's and 4.88's and it's still a turd! I'm certain the 90 could take it.

James,

No offense taken. And that grill really needs two more slots to be a "Jeep" grill. I don't post a whole lot (as evident by my post count) and Dale is quick to stick up for me, even though we both enjoy giving each other a hard time every now and then (as friends tend to do!).

Nice job on that rear bumper BTW! It complements the AEV front bumper nicely. Any chance you'll be going the Hemi route? When I'm finished with school (76 days and counting), I'm hoping to take my JK more of a "J8" route. I like the basic "utility" set-up that the J8 has. That being said, I'm a Defender fan at heart, but my family simply outgrew my last 90. I do hope (wife allowing) to add a 110 to the stable at some point down the line, but that will most likely be in addition to the Jeep.

Speaking of "hybrids", I've got a good friend who built a rig using a '76 Toyota FJ frame and front clip, a Jeep CJ rear body tub, and a Chevy 350 engine and drivetrain. He calls it his "Jevota".

That grill is from an up-armored Defender made by Arotech subsidiary MDT in the UK for the IDF.

Will,

Thanks for the compliment!

Funny you should ask. After emailing Brandy the link http://www.hulu.com/watch/137331/dan...me-off-roaders she reply's "So what I need is a Hemi right?" That wasn't my original intention of sharing the video but YES! that is exactly what you need. I may go that route later down the road but not any time soon.
