hydro-boost

cleaning my garage this weekend making room for storage of wood, I found a gm hydro-boost unit complete with p/s pump, remote reservoir, brake master cyl and booster.
pm me if interested, it may not go back in shop so it will suffer the faith of many other parts have suffered during winter and subsequent spring clean up.
(rust ans eventually scrap).
hate to ruin a good part but dont have use for it.

Pardon my ignorance, but what the heck is a hydro-boost? I know, I know, if I don't know what it is I probably don't need it, right? Still, I'd like to know what that thing is.

It's a brake conversion. you install the hydraulic booster and remove the vacuum booster.

In a nut shell... instead of using vacuum to amplify pressure for braking. You now use hydraulic pressure.

You have to remove the factory vacuum booster and install this one... hooked up to the power steering pump.

People with 35" and higher tend to use this. The pressure from the vacuum is not enough to stop the vehicle efficiently.

Talk to Carlos, he's pretty good at this stuff.

That's just what I've been looking for. Let me know what you want for it if Bobeck doesn't take it. I can drive up from southern MD anytime.
