Hot Rod Rover V-8 Project

I inherited this when I bought a giant pile of Defender/Series parts. Was going to use it, but I’ve decided to do something a little more Chevy. Fresh disassembled DIY hot-rod rover V8 long block for the home engine builder. From the original owner I was told all the machine work was done by D&D machine and/or to their spec and the overall design “was to D&D’s spec” with regards to components, bearings, etc. I would prefer to sell complete, but will part out if that does pan out. This is a builder engine and sold as such, meaning, make sure you know what you're doing when you build this, it's not a slap together kit unless you have intimate knowledge of the Rover V8. It has been covered, and stored coated with grease to prevent any corrosion. It is currently stored in a crate in the corner of my shop.

To my knowledge it lacks:

New pushrods, cams, oil pump/pickup

Here are the highlights:

Fresh reworked heads with new valves/rocker/spring setup greased coated for storage
New Rods
New Pistons w/ rings
Polished crank
Engine Block - it has 2-bolt mains - cylinders look great and have been greased coated for storage
Powder Coated Oil Pan
Powder Coated front cover
All new gasket kits
New timing chain kit
All new bearings, main, rod, etc...
Intake Manifold
4.2 ECU
Plenum drilled and tapped for AN fittings

Asking $1100 OBRO

It began it's life as a 4.2 off the top of my head. I'm not sure on the final displacement. I can pull numbers off the crank, rods and pistons for anyone that needs that info. I was told it should put down a solid 225-250hp when built and tuned.

Just to put it out there, I'm very negotiable on the price. I'd really like to just get it out of my way.

Maaaaaaaaaaan! So tempted! I'd pay more in shipping than what you're asking! Someone buy this and put me out of my misery thinking about it! GLWS

I think you'd probably pay a couple hundred +/- for shipping. Use Fastenal. If you really want it you should buy it before he parts it out. In post #6 he says he's "very negotiable"...?

Thanks. I'll look into Fastenal. I know he's very negotiable but I just hate to haggle with someone already giving me a good deal.

I can ship surprisingly cheap via FedEx freight. My work has a baller account with them... make me an offer.
