All implied gayness aside, I don't see a mount for a steering damper. So it will fit a D1 or RRC only if one relocates the damper to the drag link off the steering drop arm.

Funny, I thought the same thing, considering I have a Disco front axle and just installed a Rovertracks HD tie rod.

There seems to be a confusion on most boards about this...

The drag link (steering drop arm to spindle) is the one that goes up front, the track rod (spindle to spindle) goes in the rear and at the ends the Tire Rod Ends (TRE's).

The drag link is different on DI and D90. The DI is longer by about 2-3". The DI is longer because it has no damper bracket, it has a TRE.

I just removed the stock DI drag link, track rod w/steering damper and steering drop arm (aka Pitman) with D90 track rod (no damper), D90 drag link with D90/(RRC early years) damper bracket and steering drop arm w/ball joint. They fit like a glove.

When I ordered the parts I bought two sets of HD steering components... a DI and a D90. Both track rods are the same lengths. The drag links are different (as stated above).

------ Follow up post added March 9th, 2011 02:15 PM ------

Also... that looks to be a track rod.

Yes, it's a "track" rod, or more commonly referred to as a tie rod!

Here, I'll clear it up.. To "fix" a D1 or an RRC; Move the damper to the front and use a Defender length Tie Rod.

Drag links for Defenders are all the same.

Up to "about" 91 RRC drag links are like Defenders with the the little drop arm joint. From then on they are like Disco's with a tie rod end on each end. RRC's do not have the mounting for the damper on the little drop arm thingy like a Defender.
