Happy 200TDI for sale

200TDI with 97k total miles.

26k miles on new head gasket, front and rear seals, timing belt, starter motor, water pump, HD 300TDI 130 clutch set, new injectors. Also rebuilt the fuel pump at that time.

Complete kit comes with all accessories including radiator, cross flow 'bar and plate' type intercooler, aluminum intercooler pipes with silicone connectors and stainless band clamps.
This is a well sorted out kit that all plays well together.

Low mount turbo Discovery version, 12L suffix A.

Included is the Steve Parker fabricated exhaust pipe to clear IIA/90/110/Defender footwells with the engine mounted in the stock 90/110 200TDI location.

Runs great and is still in the vehicle so you can hear it run and even drive it. I'll pull it and load it on your truck the same day.

Located in Tucson, AZ. I am willing pack it to ship truck freight upon cleared payment. (buyer pays shipping expense)

$6500 for the engine and everything that belongs with it.

Also available is a low miles genuine Land Rover remanufactured LT77S with 4 cyl bell housing for $1200.

What kind of truck do you have this in currently? 110 with AC and power steering by any chance? I would love to find such a set up to test drive before I pull the purchase trigger on a 2.5na conversion.

2.5NA in a long LR

Hi Clay,

2.5NA in a long LR is slow. If you load it down heavily for a long trip, you'll be in 3rd gear a lot. It's okay in a short LR because those are lighter and can't carry as much as the long wheelbase.

Mine is a 200TDI in a 5-door hybrid IIA with power steering and no AC. 200TDI has a lot more power and goes good.

Regards,

+1 for the 200 over the 2.5 Clay. My 110 SW (full cage, ARB, tire carrier) with 2.5NA has a tough time staying at 45 mph on SMALL overpasses! Don't waste your time unless it will only be a farm truck or the like

Thanks guys. My dilemma is I have this totally original very early 110. It has a 2.5na, an LT77 and a part time t-case. It's an unusual factory set up with Fairy locking hubs. I don't plan on using it on anything but intermediate level trails a couple times a year. I would use it more often with friends and family if I have AC and power steering so I would like to do a conversion to accommodate more horses, AC and PS. Just wondering if it's a logical and intelligent decision. As it is the 2.5na carries a couple kids a dog and weekend gear okay, but it not something you want to climb in every weekend. For that reason I would love to drive the ideal configuration to gain a sense of what I should expect without too many unforeseen surprises.

Posting the requested running cold and hot videos of this 200TDI.

The cold start is without using glow plugs. Ambient temp is about 75 degrees F.

turbo needs relocating to fit over a Series 109 chassis

There have been questions about Series II/IIA 109 installations. The turbo needs relocating to fit over a Series 109 chassis. A good header shop can make this work.

Thanks TerriAnn!

I'm using IIA 2-1/4 engine mounts and even the brackets that bolt to the block are in the right place. It is mostly a bolt-on arrangement. You should convert to power steering at the same time relocating the box to the front like a Range Rover. The engine has the pump on it already. Your IIA transmission will bolt up and it would use the IIA clutch.

Price reduction

Price reduction to $4500 for the 200 TDI.

Answers to a few questions:
Major service was done around 71k miles, prior to installing it in my Rover.
Injector pump was serviced by Oregon Fuel Injection.
The head was pulled, inspected and fitted back on with a new gasket.
The engine was test run before this preventative service and it ran great, same as it does now.
Kit comes with intercooler, pipes, clamps, clutch and radiator.

Price for the LT77S is still $1k.
