hannibal RTT

Selling my hanibal roof top tent... $500..this model is about 48" wide..I do not have any of the bits and pieces that go with it like the awning rods etc or the lower half on the ladder... this would be perfect for a trailer tent.... as you can imagine..it would be a pain in the ass to ship and expensive..

I don't know about the tent, but that CTT is looking sweeeeeet!
Is this the one that originated at MRM in the UK? (the one with the CTT body on an older chassis?)
If so, it looks like you've done some nice work. It's looking tidy!

Yeah, I tend to be simple like that.
My mental database of every Defender on the board is spotty at best, but I remember this truck particularly because I really wanted it! Glad to see it's being cared for and restored.

Very interested; need to see if I can work out the logistics as I've got a 110 coming out of British Rover in Margate to be shipped to Texas. But that's pending confirmation we can fit it to the existing rack (probably too narrow but we'll see) and then confirming I can get it on the transporter.

Yes Jackie.. (did you know my first true loves name was Jackie..) it is the same one...and if you think you like what you see here spend a couple of hours reading the 20 or so pages of the build..
On expedition portal... And texrover.. I think you should buy the tent and trailer package and drive the 110 back.. I am pretty sure the tent will fit inside the rack at least for shipping purposes..I can have Paul or ken measure to make sure,,,

Shayne, is the truck still at your shop or has Paul moved it already?

I'm tempted to just fly out and by a trailer and drive it back and stop by Stephen's on the way....just need to prepare mentally for a 3 day road trip I guess.

And I would like to see the CT I almost bought!

Feel free to pay for the repairs on the camel you almost bought...LOL... I almost had a nice amount of money in my savings account...LOL.. If you are after a trailer..did you see my trailer for sale on expo..
http://www.expeditionportal.com/foru...enture-trailer
and its setup for a defender...may have to do something different for the rear hitch but it just so happens that I have a hitch receiver for a 110 to allow you to use the reese style..We do not have the vehicle here any more though we can get it back down here and get it ready for a trip..
If you wanted to come ad see the camel you ALMOST bought you best make it quick as I leave next sunday to drive to overland expo and then on to.....................????????

and did I mention...as if one is not bad enough I am currently looking at buying another camel...this time a discovery though....I must be a sucker...a sucker and his money are easily parted...LOL...and NO Jackie...I will not tell you which one I may be buying...

hmmm.

only issue is i'm told if i drive it out of FL to TX i have to pay FL tax, then try to get reimbursed when i register in TX.

but Stephen had an idea to get temporary tags from TX, so I'm going to see how FL feels about that.

will check on that monday.....

glad the CT went to the right guy with the big pocketbook!

most states (texas) will give you a temporary tag or at the least you get a cover note from your insurance company...take your tag and you have 30 days to transfer it..with a bill of sale and all insurance papers you would have to get a real a-hole of a cop to give you a hard time...and even if you did in most states you have 30 days to produce the documents that you had it transferred...shall i hook up the trailer to it...????

Don't worry, my 110 has consumed all of my resources over the past 9 months. I'm about all done looking for another one......however, I may be tempted to look at a 2000 Td5 110 that is local. I need another 110 like a hole in the head!

I was only dreaming that I could pull off a restoration when I was originally looking at your CTT when it was at MRM. THe reality is that I could never pull off the extensive work that you have done without some serious dough. It looks nice though. Congrats.

Thank you Jackie... and yes, its been a long road getting her to where she is now but its been fun and I am sure she will see us through many great adventures to come.. and Jason...you can always go lighter weight in your trailer and be sure its going to take it...not ever the other way around..also the width is the same as the 110 and the wheel track is as near as damn it to each other... now its been lightened you have the best of both worlds and its more utilitarian for other chores than a half ton...

I'll think about the 3/4

Let me check online with FL and TX re: avoiding sales tax but might not have a definitive answer until Monday.

Put me down for the tent and we'll figure out the rest.

Did this sell? Extremely interested, but would need it shipped.
