I purchased the kit from P.A. Blanchard & Co. over the summer but decided not to go forward with the install. The kit has sat in my room since it was delivered. Just to be clear, this kit is designed for steel wheel and not alloy wheels.
In order to head off any anticipated confusion, I'm including the following link (http://www.defendersource.com/faq/Body/BodyHood.html
) which will direct you to the defender source information page with information regarding the difference between the steel (STC 7633) and alloy (STC 7686) kits. Now, with that said if you search threads on defender source related to mounting alloys and steels to the bonnet or any of the endless "rear tire carrier v. bonnet mount" threads you will find some information on various modifications you may do to either kit. Do that at your own risk - this kit is for steel wheels.
As far as bonnets go, this will not fit a puma bonnet (I have included a pic of a puma 90 for reference). It will however, fit the NAS bonnet (and others, but do your research).
Of note: Everything in the pictures (besides the puma truck) is included. Instructional manual and all nuts, bolts, rivets, mounting plates, etc. Now, although this kit comes with a copy of LR's mounting instructions therefore making it appear as if the whole kit is purist LR Genuine, it's not. Some of the parts are genuine, some are not - your guess is as good as mine, but I highly doubt those rubber stops are the $60 Genuine LR breed (if they are, please never tell me).
Price - I paid $275.26 for the kit. $80 of that was for shipping on the QEII to NY. So, the actual guts of the kit cost me approx. $190. So, let's say $150 shipped CONUS
. I have Oktoberfest tabs to pay, people.
Alright, onto some pics...
