So over the summer I was 1 day away from selling my 2003 Rocky Mountain Switch mountain bike. The day before selling it I took it out for one last ride and whatdayaknow...I broke the frame. Apparently my seatpost was too high and I cracked the frame at the clamppost. So the $1000 sale was off. I brought down to a well known aluminum welder in Bristol, CT to have it fixed. He even welded a small angle piece on the back side for extra strength. I wasn't happy with how the paint had to be removed for the welding to occur. It looked horrible. So I ended up removing all of the paint. I also rode it all summer, up thru last week figuring the bike isn't marketable anymore. But I thought I'd give it a shot again. The bike is now brushed aluminum. 6 inches of travel. Let me know if you want more information. You may actually find an old post from over the summer if you look hard enough.
