Thumbs up FS: NAS Center Dash Face Plate (milled aluminum)

Just wrapped up the latest project, the NAS Center Dash Face Plate for any year Land Rover Defender NAS 90 (note: this is a NAS-only specific configuration).

This is an upgraded replacement for the center face plate in the NAS 90's which houses the hazard switch, clock, and 12v cigar lighter (or the factory 12v is easily replaced with a Blue Sea 12v or dual USB as the cutout size will accept either). The factory face plate is basically a piece of very thin metal wrapped in vinyl, and over time these tend to bend or become warped (not to mention look unsightly). This new Center Dash Face Plate uses a pressure fit to keep the hazard, clock, and 12v firmly in place.

This dash center plate panel offered here is a great upgrade, and not only dresses up your NAS Defender but is exceptionally more durable than the factory face plate. Milled from 1/4" thick solid CNC milled aluminum and powdercoated in satin/semigloss black, they are guaranteed to withstand the test of time, elements, and whatever you can throw at your Land Rover. For the D-90 folks here (pretty much offering it just to this crowd) it will come with new mounting stainless screws/hardware (2 machine screws & 2 nuts).

$85 + shipping (see below for 10% discount, and shipping is ~$6 for a single unit conus) for (1) NAS Center Dash Face Plate that is powdercoated black and includes stainless mounting hardware.

PayPal or Credit Cards accepted, and can be ordered here: https://www.seriesdefender.com/face/...ter-panel.html

PLEASE NOTE: there is a 10% discount to D-90 members, just use the coupon code "D90" at checkout and it will automatically be applied to your entire order.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: we are also shipping to the UK and Canada, simply input your address information and the international shipping will automatically be calculated for you.

Ready for immediate shipping!

Very nice. Any chance of getting you to do one for three round gauges ?

I'd be in if a VDO oil pressure gauge will fit in there.

Preferably in place of the lighter...

I've got a list of "other" configs that I'm considering, and the 3x VDO was initially on that list - but it seemed like it was going to be a bit tight to fit them in (with very little material left on the perimeter at the outer edges). But I'll take a look at this again and possibly put it up for contention if there's enough interest.

Nice. I might also suggest textured Powder coating. It would look a little closer to the original. However if no one else likes the idea I'd take one bare and have it done on my end.

Interesting, that's the first I've seen those setups so it's obvious it can be done...I'll revisit and put it on the possibilities list. I'm assuming the interest would be for VDO only? I'm speaking dimensionally here, though I believe the factory gauges are the same/similar measurements.

Yes please- most aftermarket gauges utilize the same diameter hole that the stock gauges do. Croytec only makes these to special request. Yours look to be far better anyway.

Should be able to make this happen, though admittedly may take a little while.

Stupid question - is there only 1 size of VDO gauge? In other words it's not like they have a "newer" version that may be dimensionally different than older VDOs?

The majority of aftermarket gauges fit into a 2 1/16" hole including VDO. The difference may be if you recess the bezel like the ones shown above.

Apparently my temp gauge has been subscribed to this thread, since as of this weekend I noticed it was "intermittent" and as of this morning it's pretty much shot and not reading. Going to trouble shoot any loose wires/grounds (as it did bounce back when I took a turn coming back home), but may use this as an excuse to move over to a VDO temp gauge anyhow since the factory gauge is notoriously inaccurate. So I may have one to measure off of .

Quick poll - would folks rather have the recessed bezel or just mount the VDOs so they stick out as shown below? My main concern is that things will start to get real "thin" in there with a recessed bezel into the face plate.

I second. Durability first! No need to be flush if it makes it too thin.

So who's in for a 3x VDO version of this dash center plate? If we've got enough interest I think we can make this happen.

I think I would be. I need to check with David on my rebuild, it's on our list to discuss. (trucks pulled apart as we speak.)

Alright, so I'm toying with some other configurations as follows...I know we had a few interested in the 3x VDO config, but would like to get some hard numbers on that first. So essentially the other configs I'm tossing around are as follows:

- 3x VDO Gauges
- 6x Carling Switches
- 2x 12v & 4x Carling Switches (which would essentially be setup as 12v-carling-carling-carling-carling-12v)

Thoughts/input? Other requests? I actually did a poll above, please vote for the configurations you'd like to see (you can choose more than one as I plan to hopefully spin out a few alternate versions based on demand).

I think Roverenvy, Uncle Douglas, solarguy, and UnfrozenCaveman were initially interested in the (3) VDO setup. Is that still the case?
