Thumbs up FS: 300Tdi/Td5 Side Air Intake Vent Grill (milled aluminum)

As a complement to the Milled Aluminum Wingtop Vents (seen here if you’ve been living under a rock for the past 6 months) comes the next installment:

The Milled Aluminum Side Air Intake Vent Grill for a 300Tdi, Td5, or Puma
(all aforementioned are interchangeable…but sorry, will not fit 200Tdi).

It is a replacement for the genuine part # BTR6188, which sells for upwards of $50-65 (plus shipping) for the cheap, plastic, factory side intake vent that can weather, crack, and break over time (particularly the small retaining pins that hold the vent in place).

This vent offered here is a great upgrade, and not only dresses up your Defender but is exceptionally more durable than the cheap plastic vent. Milled from 1/4" thick solid aluminum and powdercoated in satin/semigloss black, they are guaranteed to withstand the test of time, elements, and whatever you can throw at your Land Rover:

$100 SHIPPED (continental US*) for (1) side intake vent grill that is powdercoated black. Check, money order, cash, or PayPal gift preferred. PM me for payment details.

This vent is a very simple upgrade, the only thing I’ll point out is that the factory vent uses 5 small “pins” to keep the vent in place – these pins frequently snap and break off, leaving the plastic vent literally hanging on by a pin or two (not very sturdy). The holes for the milled aluminum vent use these same 5 “pin” holes (mainly for the sake of symmetry, as seen below indicated by the red arrows) for the 5 mounting screws. These pin locations / mounting screw can be seen as follows:

And please note you may need to remove the “female” end of the pin mounts from the vehicle itself so the mounting screws will fit into place, but absolutely no drilling of bodywork is required (as can be seen above, the holes already exist in the wing).

*NOTE: for shipping, I am open to sending to Canada, and possibly even UK if there is interest – though with the additional shipping costs it will change the price (please contact me in advance for details).

Ready for immediate shipping…get ‘em while they last!

Very cool of you to offer this. The original LR part you're referring to went from around $10 to around $60 overnight several months back, no clue or answer why.

Yeah I noticed that too...and on BOTH sides of the pond the costs exploded. Was also part of the impetus for offering this upgrade (plus it is designed in the same honeycomb pattern/etc as the wingtop vents, so just the juxtaposition of those folks running the upgraded wingtops made the plastic side vent look pale by comparison).

Well...it is a mirror image, BUT there'd have to be some advance interest & signup to make it happen .

Can anyone (that has a 200Tdi, or is knowledgeable about both the 200 & 300) confirm that the 200Tdi Side Intake Vent (part#MWC2501 I believe) is literally just a mirror image of the 300Tdi Side Intake Vent (part#BTR6188)?

To my eye they appear to be, it's just that the 300 vent is on the rightside (as you're sitting in the vehicle) and the 200 is on the leftside.

Bueller?

I'll check tomorrow if you don't have an answer by then, I'm pretty sure they're identical.

I saw your wing top vents in person for the first time last week on a customers truck!!! Very nice product, and great price as well. Ppl don't know how much actually goes into material and machining time! Anyway two thumbs to you and your products.

For ease of ordering, now have a direct-link to PayPal for the 300Tdi Side Intake Vent (link automatically includes the 10% Discount to D-90 members, and domestic shipping) - which can be found here:
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/websc...=JXZP644GZ5YWQ

Simply follow the above link, login to your PayPal account, and click the 'Pay Now' button - that's it!

Of course orders can still be processed through www.SeriesDefender.com as well (and if paying via credit card or if you are ordering multiple products you'll still want to go direct in order to combine & save on shipping).

200Tdi Side Intake Vent Available

I kept meaning to update this, but the 200Tdi Side Intake Vent (left-side) has been available and ready to go:
https://www.seriesdefender.com/intak...ndard-200.html

Got sidetracked on not only a personal Rover project (3 years in the making!), but also working out some of the additional Face Plate configurations as well as the grill & light surround project that will (hopefully) be done soon!
