Will your conversion fit that?

Thanks

Qscar:
If what's in these pictures will bolt to your engine, then the answer is yes.

Looks like it will work. I have cleared out the right side of the engine since this pic was taken.

I'll shoot you a PM.

These are the standard alt for the disco 300tdi. We sell the same and I installed one into a Disco on Friday.

Remember 300tdi alternators have two different pulley diameters, 49mm and 63mm. The serp belts are different sizes for these pulleys. I don't think they really effect the belt too much beside some chirping.

Also your tac will be 500rpm off - ask me I know haha.

49mm if you run a 1.4tc and 63mm if you have a 1.2tc normally

thanks for reminding me. Yes, I still have an extra belt from when I ordered two sizes from RN b/c I wasn't sure which one fit.
I still can't remember, but glad you reminded me.

I'll let you know when I get this all sorted out (which may not be for at least a week).

I can get new pulleys the same size as the one on the alternator you just received if that will help.

Works well, Thanks Robert.
I did have to drill out the lower mounting tab (it was tapped to receive a 8mm) but the alternator bracket on my 300 had the tapped hole.
Is this because it's a later 300TDI or what?
It was no big deal, but something to consider or verify before you try to replace while on the trail or something.

Glad it worked out well.
When I did a trial fit, the bottom bolt matched my 300TDI, but it was a Disco engine.

For all I know, somebody waaay before me could have helicoil-ed or tapped the mounting bracket to fit some other alternator. All I know is that my mounting bracket fitted to the block is tapped to receive a bolt.
I wonder what iteration of the 300 (if any) is configured like this.

The alternator is a direct fit though and was a breeze to install other than that one thing. Thanks for the fast shipping because today was litterally the only day it has been above freezing in many weeks and it's forecast to be crazy cold starting tomorrow. This needed to get done.

Yes those are nice alternators, come with the pulley, and about $80 or more below the going rate...
