Can anyone with a slimline installed on their Defender 110 that has factory springs tell me how tall their truck is from the ground to top of Slimline rack? My D110 does not have the ribbed roof. My garage is 82" clearance and i'm hoping i can pull my D110 in with a Slimline II installed.

I have a 2" lift and 31" tires and my tall point is 86". Not sure your will get down to 82". My rack is 5" above the non rib part roof if that helps.

Thanks. Yeah, doesn't sound like its happening. Bummer as I'm guessing this rack is not something you want to put on/off frequently for adventures.

Do you have the standard arms or the Tall arms?

They may be the taler arms, but I still think you are tight on space. I would consider taking it on and off a few times a year, but wouldn't want to do it every weekend.

Thanks again! also looks like you have the side rails. I was planning on getting just the flat slimline version like below photo. Not sure how many inches that takes off.

I figured you were trying to stay low, so all the measurements are to the base rack not including the side rails.

Got it. Thanks. Front Runner just responded to an email and said if adds 140mm or 5.5". Exactly what you said. Thank you. Don't think that will work

Kurt,

Maybe a Patriot (UK) rack would help. 4" from the roof to the top of the rack deck.
For those not familiar with Patriot, they are extremely strong with no welds to fracture, and a full length gutter support bar like the elusive Hannibal.
You don't need to buy the side rails if you do not want them.
Shipping's not too bad as it comes knocked down.

Eric.

Hi guys. Still trying to solve this question of how much height a slimline will add to my 110. Here is an email from Front Runner. Can anyone confirm the height from the gutter to the top of the roof (non-ribbed)? Sounds like the distance from roof to top of rack is 90mm or 3.53".

I got an email from Patriot Racks that said they are about 100mm or 3.94".

My truck is sitting at 77" so add 4" and I'm sitting at 80.5". My garage is 81.5" so it should work but it will be tight.

--------

Our regular Defender fitment will come with mounting legs that are 225mm tall and our rack system is another 50mm. The total height of our rack system from the gutter will be 275mm tall. If you measure the distance from the gutter to the highest point of your roof, we can deduct that distance from 275mm and that would give you the total distance from the highest point of your roof to the top of your rack.

If the 40mm distance between the roof and the rack is correct, this means the distance from the roof to the top of the rack will be 90mm total (give or take a few mm depending on if you have a ribbed roof). This means your gutter to roof height should be somewhere around 175mm.
