Ford Duratorq 2.4L Diesels for sale in Boston (not mine)

http://boston.craigslist.org/nos/pts/4047460856.html

Ford Dura Torq TDCI Turbo Diesel
Common rail injection
1228 HP
244ft. lb torque - 16V
2402-CC - 2.4L
Used in Ford Transit, London Taxi II, 2007 Land Rover Defender, Citroen Jumper, Peugeot Boxer, Fiat Ducato

I think this has been posted before but they are still listed, thought I would throw it up again with the emergence of the Puma Bulkheads that seem to be arriving here and there

The drivetrain can't handle that much horsepower.

so what was done to the 2007 defender to address that? I think it's implied to use the 6 speed transmission that mates to this engine if doing a conversion.

I think Brian is referring jokingly to the "1228 hp" typo

The actual engine's hp output is 128hp and is no danger to any Defender drivetrain.

This doesnt seem like much of an upgrade. Maybe in NVH? Still waiting for that US spec Transit...now that might be more than our powertrains can handle.

Is it even legal on the road here? What electronics are required to run it?

He puts that engine up on craigslist every few months. Doesn't sell it...then puts it up at the same price.

It was part of the attempt to sell the London Taxi here in the US. It is federalized.

Same unit as seen in this thread. http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...highlight=taxi

But at least, he has dropped the price now!

The MT82 goes behind it. http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...highlight=MT82
http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...ht=MT82&page=3

The Land Rover version of the box has very different internal ratios to the Mustangs.

Just so we have the sellers phone number in one of these threads its 978-764-3594 or 978-374-9545

Seems like a really good price fit a brand new Diesel engine.
