Feeler…. Sale of NEW complete 300tdi setup

Hi guys,
This is just a feeler, but I am considering buying a new surplus (2006 build) LHD ROW 300Tdi with the idea of using it to convert my 90 to a 110. My question is what do you reckon a complete 300tdi setup would be worth. It would include engine, transmission, t-case, radiator, intercooler, wiring harness, exhaust……..everything needed to install a NEW 300Tdi. I guess I would also have a front axle, suspension, bulkhead, and lots of other parts, as well as whatever is leftover from the 90. I would be shipping from the UAE so I imagine that the only parts worth shipping would be the drive train, unless I consolidated things into one shipment……
Any ideas?
thanks

A 300 Tdi, engine only, with 72K was listed on this site a while ago for $3000.00. I have seen the engine transmission set up go for $4,500.00. All of been close to 100K mileage units. A LHD, clean bulkhead might be snapped up pretty quick? If you haven't checked on importing the stuff make sure that you can do what you want to do. It would be a shame to have that nice engine just sitting at the port.

A set-up that complete, once in the states, could be 20k easily. Not everyone has that scratch, but new 300tdis, when they turn up, have gone for more than 10k for just the motor.

Somewhere between $12k and $20k. As the other poster said, new 300tdi units are expensive and hard to find. I have a very nice NAS 110 and I wouldn't dare put a 100k mile motor in mine (and that's all that seem to come up anymore).

At least 10K if it really has EVERYTHING and it's all new.

In fact, at 10K with a gearbox and tcase it would be a very good deal.

If it was the right time and I was in the right place, I'd offer 20k and feel like I was getting a fair price.

Kind of have to agree with Bill here. I guess if I was just made of money I might go for it, but is new really any guarantee of quality? Sure it is nice but if something does go wrong you are still on your own as there is no warranty unit available. Given that you can get a handful of used ones for the same price, it really is false economy, and no extra peace of mind as there are cases of very low mileage engine failures. As with almost any product.

Given what I can buy one of these remaining 2006 300 tdi trucks for I'd agree. @ last count there were 19 left and that was in December. Charles Galpin got to look @ one yesterday sans drive train.

Well the site that I was looking at two days ago has changed the availability to “SOLD” so it may be a moot point…does anyone have any additional information or sources? I was looking at http://stroicar.com/eng/equip.php?ID=385
