Extra Heavy Duty Steering Tie Rod DI/Defender RRC
Complete new Max Yedor Tie Rod (behind front axe) for $200 shipped (to the East Coast) or less.
This is a .250 wall DOM tie-rod, running a 3/4"" heim at each end. This is much, much stronger than a Rover TRE and decently stronger than at Chevy 1-ton TRE. Plus, they're cheaper and easier to track down a replacement if the time comes. The downside is that you'll need to drill out the steering knuckles with a 5/8" bit for the bolt to drop through, but all you need is an $10 bit.
These are out of production. Sp, if you have one you are lucky. If not, here's your chance.
