Discovery 300tdi engine and transmission

Selling 300tdi engine, 300tdi r380 transmission, transfer case (choice of 1.4 or 1.2 lt230) a complete conversion kit from a 1995 Land Rover Discovery.

Engine was imported last year from the UK - approximately 120k miles at the time of removal. I installed into my own 1995 discovery, however shell is too rusty to justify conversion and new job means I have run out of time to complete the project.

Engine can be heard (can get video if required) running, runs very nice, no surprises. I will not remove from the car until engine is sold.

I will include everything required to do the conversion- including engine mounts and tdi specific cross member, new radiator, new clutch, inter-cooler (used), wiring looms, 300tdi specific air conditioning compressor etc.

If 5 speed swap parts are required they can also be negotiated.

What's the differences between the discovery and defender setups? Just the r380 gear lever and 1.2 vs 1.41 transfer box?

I believe the 300tdi manifolds are the same between discovery/defender but as NPT90 said the air box routing is altered, it would be best to cross reference the manifold part numbers to confirm.

The r380 can be converted to a long stick with a kit from Ashcroft (
Ashcroft Transmissions) presuming you had the defender gear stick or lt-77. As mentioned in the original post the buyer will have a choice between a 1.2 ratio lt230 (rebuild) or a 1.4 defender unit (not rebuilt).
