Defender R380 transmission for 300tdi (or 200tdi)

For sale is a used defender style r380 5 speed transmission for 300tdi. Will also fit a 200tdi (that’s what I had it behind) but the bellhousing for 300tdi style is longer, and would put the 200tdi farther forward. I bought this as a new/rebuilt unit from AW Transmissions UK about 4 years ago and put approximately 20k miles on it in my defender 90. There is one issue- the rear of the transmission case lower corner has a small chunk that cracked off at the bolt hole, and the bolt can still be installed but only about half the hole is there. This was my error during install and has had not caused me any issues. You can sort of see it in the picture of the output shaft and I can post a better one. The transmission shifts flawlessly and does not leak (although it’s a little greasy from my old very leaky 200tdi). There is a small amount of deformation to the output shaft from running a non cross drilled input on my LT230, however it’s still engages without issues. I’ve had this stored in my shed but I realized I don’t think I’m ever going to be running a Rover diesel again. Happy to strap it to a pallet and drop it off at fastenal, or I can meet a buyer within a reasonable distance from Carmel/Monterey CA.

Asking $750.
