Defender 90 NLA a/c switch..??

Correct me if I'm wrong but I recall trying to find this switch a while ago and had a hell of a time and it wasn't available... Part number doesn't seem to come up in microcat...$1 million dollars..

I have to check but I need one switch myself. Can't remember is that's the one or the other one... But since those are prone to break, I'll take one (two?)
Now... I can't afford 1M dollar for sure (even for two! ). Please give me a price (shipped to 20170).

I will say that someone sent me a link to an aftermarket one that looked like it but I couldn't see the back side of it...and it was quite cheap, like 12-15... I was hoping that someone would verify the pins on the back are correct since I can't get the number to pull up on microcat to get application.

I posted the similarities between a 1991 Jeep A/C unit and my 1995 switch but it never got any traction. Yours looks exactly like the Jeep one but not like my D90 one which has the fan blades painted solid white so maybe they were different across years. Pics attached from a 1991 Jeep Renegade and my dash.

Is it continuously variable or does it have set positions?
It's just a rheostat afaik
I'm looking for something similar to replace my Mk3 Kodiak switch.

The switch has 3 positions, the temp control was variable but was not a rheostat in the electrical sense as it controlled a capillary tube from memory which took its sensing from the evap core .. But was not an electrical switch..I wanna say that it did have an electrical terminal on it but that was just to turn the compressor off when turned down all the way if you just wanted fan, not a/c.. The vast.majority of stuff in these boxes has been ROW stuff, since it was bought out of the UK, and since the a/c unit were port installed here I wasn't sure if they used these switches in any other cars across the pond, that is why I asked if anyone had a pic or personal knowledge on what it looked like.. But these definitely come in a Land Rover box and when I put in the part number on the interweb I get some Land Rover sites, but nothing I can find gives me an application... It's np been so long since I worked on ROW trucks that I can't recall what had a/c....

My '95 had a switch on the left side that had a fan (4 blades) that was colored/outlined in blue. That's the one that's broken. The top part was soft rubber from what I remember. I remember what the bottom of the button looks like (D shape) but never measured it.

Part Number: STC3482
Price: $242.03

rather pricy but the BritPart option is just a joke... so those A/C conversion are becoming even most $$$ now

Is there no generic alternative rotary switch with a built in rheostat?

The switch body looks the same as the common 3 speed fan switches that are sold. Someone should measure the shaft as if they are the same, you could swap the knobs to keep the original look.
