D-90 Body 1998 50th Anniversary Edition

Hey Guys,

I purchased from George at RDS a complete 1998 50th Anniversary North American style defender body, minus the two front door and one rear door for a defender project that has fallen by the wayside. The truck had been used by the factory for testing, then it was dismantled and sold for parts. That is how I came to buy it.

The number plate is marked ''XXXX''. There is no corrosion on the panels anywhere because it was used very little before it was dismantled. It is essentially a complete truck body, including interior but not the seats. The pictures do not show them but the hood and front wings are included.

I have sold a few parts that I did not need for my project, including the roll cage, the compartment under the passenger seat, automatic transmission center console and under dash air conditioning.

All the steel parts have been removed and sand blasted to bare steel, because I planned on having them galvanized including the capping, the compartment under the driver's side seat, the three cross members under the body tub, the bulkhead and the hood frame structure.

Pictures are available by request. I would prefer to sell it complete, so at this time it is not available as parts. If I do decide to sell as parts.

I am looking for $9000.

Sincerely,
Chris Kearney

That is wishful thinking. The motor is already sold.

It is just the body parts for sale. The 2nd picture is to show the body tub without the capping and the stripped bulkhead.

The frame could be included for another $500, but it has been extensively modified since that picture. It would need a new rear cross member, the frame horns at the front of the frame have been removed to improve the approach angle, and the frame ears that the rear links mount to have been removed to add the Rovertym johnny jointed rear links. Not sure if that is of much interest to anyone.

For the time being I plan on putting the axles, links and suspension onto my classic to keep my hand in the Rover world and to try and get back wheeling again. I really do miss it.

Chris

That is an international 2.8, but the motor has already been sold.

I have had some questions. This is a left hand drive bulkhead.

This also includes the entire interior, dash, steering wheel, head liner, excluding seats. This could be perfect for refreshing that 1984 import. More pictures to come.

Like the badge on back...pretty cool. I remember there was a complete one of these here in the US on ebay like 9-10 years ago. I wanted to buy it so badly.

Thanks Barry... moved my question to Flea Market to avoid hijacking this one.
