Pretty sure they still make a 255/75-17 km for the Jeep Rubicon but didn't know they were still making them in any other sizes. Cool.

Still making them but a different tread patter from the old MT. Pic is my son's 2016 Willys edition...

I managed a Michelin (BFG family) store for a little while and we could hold stock up to 5 years from the tire date code. Tire changes due to age are usually recommended between 6-8 years. It is very possible he purchased these tires "new" 2 years ago. They were phased out for the KM2 between 2010-2012 if memory serves. Best case scenario with that, buyer has 2 years of recommended life left. Pricey but not really a huge deal, I've driven on 10 year old tires for months before.
