Best sites in UK (or USA?) to buy fancy bits???

Hey guys... I am sourcing a truck in the UK and I am lucky enough to go there regularly for work and also have relatives (who happen to be defender owners) over there to help me sort things out quite a bit. I need to find out who offers the best prices over there on certain items so I can but them together for the refurb. Some things are small and some are big so let me know where you think I can get the best price for this laundry list in the UK (Btw if there is a place well priced here in the USA then of course I want to know but have just seen that prices in UK are naturally lower).

Air Con OEM or aftermarket for 110 with 300tdi
Cubby Boxes
Nice leather or sporty fabric seating front/2nd/rear
Roll cage
Soft Top
Misc accessories like front bumpers, side steps, snorkel, front grill, upgrade steering wheels
Wheels

Let me know also if you guys believe their is a definite must have for any defender owner in your opinions...

BJ.

Make sure you have all that stuff installed prior to shipment... Start with Devon 4X4, KiethGott, and Paddock Spares...

Angry fancy Bits

Unless you are shipping in a container and or going via Southampton don't fit anything fancy. Ask me how I know?

Just shipped that way and items stolen, front winch bumper, rock sliders, radio and consel, rear step bumper, tow hitch, front steering guard, jack and possably the rear headlining (nobody is sure there was one). Its a good thing the tyres were crap.

you can't stuff a RORO, it's vehicle and bolted on parts only, no extra boxes.

The best one I had was when the girl in the docks told me to remember to bring the keys. I asked her how was it driven on and off without the keys. Trying to get a straight answer was hopeless. Remember your Rover will sit on the docks for a few days pending customs clearance so any shiny bits could well be stolen.

You have a few local vendors, here in the USA, that can get you the parts cheaper, in some cases, than what you can get. The prices are good in the UK but the shipping is what kills you. Some of the UK vendors do not mind shipping to the USA while others do not.

were your parts bolted to your truck or inside? if the were inside they would have been removed by UK customs and will still be at the port of embarkation. I have had this happen. They will contact the person on the V5 of the vehicle to remove the parts.

Given prior threads on imports I would encourage you to bring the vehicle over in factory original condition. Don't replace the chassis engine seats etcetera before you have the truck in your grubby hands on this side of the pond.
