ARB bumper, a bit dinged

Hi all. I'm the current owner of the ARB bumper sold through this thread: http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...per-58776.html. I don't know anything about how the bumper came to be scuffed up aside from what you can read in the previous post.

The bumper hasn't been used since sold by SafariHP. That said, if anyone wants updated pics / in better light / etc. let me know and I'll add them.

I'm asking $350 OBO (same as the previous sale thread). Cash, PayPal (buyer pays the fee) or personal check (which will have to clear first). I'd be willing to trade the bumper for (or towards) something of decent value assuming I need it. I'm interested in a Tithonus floor mat set, for example.

I can bring the bumper to MAR, or of course we could RURR the bumper either through someone attending MAR or just the normal way - the bumper is in northern Virginia (Dulles area). I don't know how to ship it, but if you do and want to walk me through it, great. Shipping and packaging isn't included in the above price, to be clear.

Thanks for checking out the post!

I could actually use this on my Tithonus- trade for bulkhead mat and either the floor or seatbox mat.
PM if interested.

Hey Matt - I'm interested depending on how extensive the repair will be. Can you post some better pictures? Maybe include some of the back of the bumper as well?

Apologies for the delayed response - family visiting for the holiday has kept me offline. Here are some better / more extensive pics. Also, I'm pretty sure that this bumper is found - new - at this link: ARB Deluxe Bar Land Rover Defender 90,110,130 1985 - On (3432300) (more experienced folks on this site feel free to correct me as needed).

Matt,

Are you sure the bumper is for a defender? The mounting system is unlike anything I've ever seen for a defender. GLWS

Looks like a d2, as the fixing points bolt to crush cans, air bag compliant

Hi guys,

I won't claim to be an expert but it looks to my eye to be exactly like the link I posted to the ARB website, for the bumper / guard for Defenders beginning in 1985. When I looked at the ARB bumper for D2s (on the ARB website) it didn't look like what I'm selling.

I will double-check it tomorrow but when I bought it the seller and I held it up to my 110's frame and I could see exactly where it would bolt on. I'm sure that you both know that it takes the place of the existing front bumper but I thought I should point that out just in case.

Thanks,
Matt

Back again - here's the link to the D2 99-02 guard: http://store.arbusa.com/ARB-Deluxe-B...60-P3303.aspx#. And to be thorough here's the D2 03-04 guard on the website: http://store.arbusa.com/ARB-Deluxe-B...120-P3305.aspx.

They look similar but I don't think what's on this page is what I have. The tubes look thinner and the angles look different (at the links above), but again, I'm no expert.

Proof is in the pudding of course and as I said I'll double-check tomorrow. Thanks for your posts!

Last edit for the night Pic #6 shows a white sticker on the inside of the bumper - and specifically says its for "Defender and County". So there we have it! Thanks again

You need mounting brackets for the install, see page 4 & 5:

Hey Dale, thanks for posting that link with the mounting instructions. Here are some pics I just took of the brackets I think you're referring to. I took some close-ups so you can see the current condition.

The brackets are black and I couldn't avoid the shadows, sorry about that. Anyone interested in more pics just let me know.

Was kinda thinking something was amiss, the brackets.

Makes sense. I'll admit it's confusing to me whether those brackets are required to mount the bumper / guard at all, or if the brackets are only required if you mount a winch (or even only certain kinds of winches) with the bumper / guard.

But whatever the case, I have the necessary brackets and they are definitely included in the sale!

Glad it is working out. Those brackets make all the difference.
