'94 D90 A/C System: Feeler

I am about to remove the A/C system from my "new to me" '94 D90. It is complete, working, and looks to be in good shape overall. I would want to get around $800 for the system.

Why am I removing it? I live in Vermont, so it gets hot 4 times a year, I want the extra leg/knee room, and my winch mounts too close to the radiator and it will not fit with the condenser.

Is there any interest in this? If not I'll just put it in storage.

Thanks,
Greg

Greg,

I would totally be interested but I have a RHD V8 with vbelts. Do you think it will work? Somehow I don't think so.

Forrest,

After you do a LHD conversion it will work just fine. The blower motor and evaporator are in the passenger side footwell on a LHD, so there would be a bit of a conflict of interest on a RHD.

I think the belts and mounts for the compressor are not an issue, tho'.

When would you be removing it and how many miles on your 90?

I'm not familiar with everything necessary for the installation, could you list
the parts I would be buying and can you take some pics of the fascia, vents, ect.

Thanks,
Mark

Mark,

I have found someone local that wants to buy it. That will work a lot better than trying to ship it.

Still waffling, but most likely. I am waiting on the compressor to arrive so it should be complete. email me at cbird@qcdata.com if you want to come by & see what I have. I'm in Highlands Ranch/Lone tree so should be close to you.

Okay, my '94 A/C system (complete) is still available. The potential buyer decided to go another route, and so this one is back up for sale.

Looking to get $800 for it, shipping is a possibility, but the buyer will pay actual shipping costs.

I have some pics I can add tonight.

Greg

Jason,

It will "fit" a '95 but my understanding it is not as simple as just plugging it in like you would with a '94.

Generally speaking, it is my understanding that it can be installed relatively easily in a '95, but it is the wiring that makes it a little tricky. I think there are only a handful of wires that need to be connected, but it is knowing which ones go where that is the tricky part, and I really don't know the details on that.

I would guess that a relatively competent A/C shop could do the install.

Since I have a pretty clean slate and a Defender bulkhead wonder if it would fit my Series? Can the compressor work on a 200 Tdi?
