5 Michelin 7.50R16 XS tires - half worn

I've got five of the Michelin 7.50R16 XS sand tires that came on my D90 - I think they are about half worn - they are a pretty cool looking tire but I don't really need a sand tire in Georgia. I'm trying to raise some Rover accessory funds and was wondering if any of you guys out there might be interested in these Michelins and what you guys think they might be worth. Mark Letorney saw my spare at MAR and said there are probably some folks out there in the wide world of Rovers who were looking for a set of these. Offers? - I'll have to get some photos tomorrow.

I am interested. Send me some pictures to will4x4@gmail.com. Any patches or plugs? How are they on road. I could always use another set of tires.

I'll get some pictures tomorrow - no patches are plugs as far as I know. Four of the tires are unmounted - that's how I got them (with the truck) so I have no idea how the truck handles on them. One is still mounted on my spare wheel on the rear door. According to other Michelin users (and Tom Sheppards books) these things are the best tires for sand ever (beaches, dunes, Sahara desert) - probably not great for mud & rock but the carcasses should be tough. If they were XZL's I'd keep 'em but there's not a whole lot of desert in North Georgia.

Cool

Can you take a picture with a quarter or something in the center of the treads on the one with the most wear for me?

I don't know what these thing run new or used so I don't really know how much to offer. What price range were you looking for?

Also can I mount them on 7" wide rims?

It's too dark now to get a good picture - I'll do it tomorrow afternoon - I think that 7" rims would be fine - I've had other 235/85R16 tires on 6.5" rims and they look great. I can get tread depth measurements on all the tires too - we'll have to go to a european Michelin website to find out what the new tread depth was.

I don't think the tread depth on the XS sand tires was as deep as regular tires - the tread blocks have a two-step profile and they aren't worn down as far as the first step though.

I measured the tread depth of the five tires - the spare is at 5/32 - three of the other ones have 6/32 tread and one has 7/32 tread.

I'm open to offers - there is probably about 20,000 miles worth of safe tread left on them and the carcasses are in really good shape - they may even be a good candidate for retreading. I think the sidewall strength of these tires is supposed to be pretty good.

You're right they are cool looking but I have four stacks of tires in my basement and need to make some room. I'm in Roswell, Georgia just north of Atlanta.
