4.6 engine for sale

I have a Rover 4.6 that was built to a high specification with larger valves and a higher lift cam. It was installed in a 96 disco and then removed having never been driven on the road. This engine is new only broken in. It was decided that the truck was to be parted out due to the owner moving across the country.
Here's what I know: larger valves, higher lift cam, stock bore, balanced and blueprinted. Was but to be used in conjunction with the tornado ecu chip available from RPI in the UK.
It's presently set up to run with the Lucas computer (14CUX)
I'm asking $6500 and would deliver anywhere in the northeast.

looks like an old callaway setup---i have the same intake and heads from a callaway--is there a stamp on the back of the cylinder heads or a green label with callaway....the other way you can i.d. callaway heads are the rocker shaft spacers

The best way to ID if it's a Callaway 4.6L is to look for the 9.60:1 compression ratio stamp.

The regular 4.6L is 9.35:1 compression ratio.

thats if you have the block--which is strange because the heads are what alters the compression ratio(at least in range rover callaway)--you'd think they would stamp the heads with the cr ???--the block is a standard 4.6 gems engine--nothing special there

I know for a fact it isn't a Callaway. It was built from a fresh 4.6 block and heads about 10 years ago, at a shop near Springfield MA. It was spec'd by a rover tech from a dealership here in MA for his own truck. His plans and life changed and he walked away from the motor. Then the guy who was installing it in the disco I parted out picked it up from the owner of the machine shop who did the work.

Yes, the short-blocks were the same on all the 4.6L.

They modified the cylinder heads to gain the 0.25 compression difference.

LR has done weird stuff over the years... This will not be the exception.

Anywhoo... GLWS
