4.2L ECU -$125 shipped.

I would like to get $125 shipped w/in the lower 48. ECU is plug and play for 94/95 defenders and gets rid of the annoying 85mph lmt.
Thanks!

How is it different from the ECU used on 3.9?

Clark,
There are maning threads in the forum regarding the differences. Do a search and you should be able to get a quick overview of them.

This is not a thread crap. If it may seem so in anyway please allow for deletion. Clay i used this chip on my 3.9 and although it does work it runs waaaay too rich and it was killing my cats. (too much heat) The chip itself is a great chip for a 4.6 but I found it to be a little bit too rich for my 3.9. YMMV.

Neil,
I am not sure what you are asking? Are you saying to delete the advertisement for the 4.2 ECU out of 93 LWB? What would I delete an ad for a part I am trying to sell?

No, he meant that if people took it as him crapping all over your add, that the mods should feel free to delete his post.

That being said, he did you a favor by bringing this post to the top again. If it's still available, I am interested in it for my JE 4.5l as it seems it will cost a fortune to have a chip made especially for it.

Before I buy it, is it worth it for my engine or should I save my money for something else (ie. a different Chip or ECU)? I would like to put something in there other than the orig. 3.9l ECU that it currently has to take better advantage of the bigger engine. Ron, Jim C, anyone?

Andrew, I bought it. There is no real benefit for a 3.9, but for a 4.6 it works well.

My intel sources indicate that some versions of the 4.2 chip work well, some newer versions are different and suck. Bottom line is that not every 4.2 chip is identical and you ought to either know what you are doing or be willing to experiment if you want to run it.

Hmmm, the new 4.2 chips (which there are almost none of) are the same as the 3.9 chips.
