4.0 motor out of 97

I have a working 4.0 from my 97 sw coming out with 150k. Good for a 4.6 conversion or rebuild. Available for cheap. Prefer norcal local but will ship on your dime. Dan

Dan, who are you sourcing your 5.0 from? RPI? You doing anything to your ZF?

keep an eye on your trans, I custom built a 4.6 with gm internals and droped it into my 95 lwb (It came out to a 5.0 with 300 hp with out a chip, one going in shortly) , in 60,000 miles Ihave been thru 3 zf22's, seriously contemplating the conversion to an electronic zf 24 or converting a zf24 from electrohydraulic to manual hydraulic valve body.

Good comments. Yes I am aware of potential trans issues. I have the motor already. Some of the machine work via Dassler. This is Keiths (rover tracks) motor before tdi swap. not even fully broken in yet. Shortened stacks, huge rods etc. Sweet. I believe he ran it non chipped but I want the full potential.

I contemplated shortening the stacks, but I use my truck for trailer pulling so i could use all the torque available at any time... did I want bottom end or upper end power... keep it stock and seems I had both... every once in awhile I get the itch to shorten them but being afraid of how much bottom end grunt I may loose keeps me under the reins... lol
