300 Tdi, 2.5 NA and R380 for Sale

Iíve got some bits I am looking to sell after stuffing a 300Tdi into my 110..

2.5 NA diesel. Military unit that has seen a rebuild at some time. 82,000 km
(about 50,000 miles) on my 110 when the engine was pulled.and I would think
there is half that on the engine. Runs well. Smoke at start up but clears right up.
Rebuilt starter, rebuilt alt. and new water pump all within the last five months.
Includes clutch, rad, hoses, oil lines, shroud and a timing belt kit.
$1800.00 or best offer.

R380 5-speed (short bell housing version) that came out of my 110. This gearbox
works well and shifts nicely. Complete with transfer box, which I believe is the 1.66 ratio.
These gearboxes are quite rare I am told. Was replaced with the longer bell housing
version for a Tdi swap. This gearbox and a 2.5 NA into a Series truck would be sweet. That
was my plan but it now looks like the 88 will be going up on the block before long too.
$1250.00 or best offer

I also have a second 300 Tdi. Bought it when I bought the truck then ended up
with two. Engine has 140,000 kms (88,000 miles) on it. Complete from fan to
clutch. Was told it was an excellent runner. I removed the timing cover just to
have and look and all seems well in there. Timing belt was last changed about
30,000 km ago. $3100.00 or best offer.

All items located in Toronto and can be pallatized for shipping. Of course, if you are in the
area pick up would be great.

If interested in any (or all) of the above, shoot me a PM or email to
bcstorey at rogers dot com

Thanks
Brett

Possible to see pictures of the output shaft on the short R380? What ratio is the transfer case attached to it? Sell just the transmission by itself? How much? Does the input shaft have any play in it?
Canadian money ir US? How are you fixed to ship to US?

Thanks

Jim, the transmisson is way across town at my buddies shop. I will try to get over there tomorrow to get the pix you asked for. The transfer ratio is 1.4 as far as I know. Will confirm that and check the for play at the imput shaft.

Not sure how to check the output shaft. I know I pull the rear cover off the transfer box. Then what? I seem to recall reading somewhere that I should just be able to remove the gear in there and that will expose the shaft. Correct?

US or CAN funds. They are so close now. Shipping I would be on a pallet or crated and sent via transport.

Sorry, that should be 1.6 for the transfer box ratio.

Yes you should be able to just pull out the gear behind the cover shaft and check its internal splines as well as look at the splines on the transmission. I appreciate you going to the trouble and hope it is in good shape. I have it in mind for a project if it is.
Pallet is fine.
Guess I was asking if I can just pay US funds.

Sorry for taking so long on the pix. Looks like a little wear on the output shaft. Don't know if that is a lot or not. When driving the truck with that gearbox, it could be made to clunk, but some of that was due to wear in the drive flanges. No real play on the input shaft that I could feel. Transfer box says 1.667.

Hope this answers your questions.

Would you consider selling the transmission by itself?

Several people have asked the same thing. At this time I'd prefer to sell the unit complete. If I do decide to separate the two, I will be sure to let you know Pendy.

Fair enough. Any thing you might need to trade for? To soften the blow of buying that transfer case, that will sit around with the other 5 1.6 ratio transfer cases I have.

Well, I am looking for a complete set of hood sticks and roll bar for a 110. Much prefer the soft top in summer. Also need a bonnet (well, just the frame actually). And I have been curious about these HD radiators you sell.

I have galvanized bonnet frame. MOD roll bar kit behind seat. Radiators start at 800 plus ship and core charge. Whats your location. Sounds like we need to meet in the middle somewhere-save shipping.

No hood stick sets. Maybe one or two singles around. All you need is one for a bimini top-or use the rollbar?

OK Jim, am definitely interested in the bonnet frame, roll bar and any
hood sticks you might have. I'm not sure about the radiator yet. I have
a brand new rad in my truck that went in with the engine in April. Not
sure on the manufacturer or quality, but no issues so far. In the future
I'd be interested in doing the IP tweaks and maybe upgrade the inter
cooler, which is why I asked about your rads.

I am in the Great White North, the Toronto area to be exact, so meeting
half way is still a long haul. Fortunately for us, if we make a deal, I have
two friends heading west across the US leaving here on the 6th of Aug.
While not passing though Kansas (you are in Kansas right?) they will be
going by a little north of there, so that might save a huge chunk of
shipping charges if you can hook up with them.

That sounds good. I am in Kansas. How far north of me are they traveling? At some point PM me a phone number I guess.

Thanks

My guys will be passing though Chicago and then making a bee line to Sturgis, SD before continuing west. They say they can hit Omaha, Nebraska before aiming back towards Sturgis. How far from you is that and would that work?

You can email me at bcstorey at rogers . com
