3.9L with blown head gasket F/S
When my 3.9L blew the passenger-side head gasket I decided to convert to diesel. I wanted a diesel anyway and I'm not putting another dime into the gas hog motor.
About the motor:
- ~ 10K miles on a rebuild
-new cam, lifters, fuel injectors, rebuild heads (one is good, one w/ blown gasket - who knows. I looked for visible cracks but it appears to just be coming from the head gasket - see photos).
-stupid expensive nearly new bosch platinum quad plugs
-new cap and plug wires
-ran and idled smooth until the gasket blew
-the guy who rebuilt it used metal gaskets - possibly the reason it blew?
-including power steering pump and A/C compressor/bracket, all pulleys, air flow sensor
-exhaust manifolds included
I will consider separating it for parts. Maybe all it needs is a fresh set of composite gaskets, or maybe the head is messed up and it needs more internal work. I drove it to the place where I pulled it out and dropped in the diesel. Oil pressure was normal and there's no knock or rough noise aside from the misfiring due to loss of compression through the head gasket.
Make an offer if interested. Will not include the alternator or starter.
