2010 defender 110 td5 6 speed rolled and bent frame..

In our travels we found a rolled right hand drive defender 110 with a td5 motor.. Story is that a guy bought it in Australia and did a trip through Patagonia and then rolled it in Mexico.. I thought about buying it for the td5 trans and complete setup but time doesn't permit..so here is what you get.. The frame is bent but possibly repairable.. But why bother.. The bodywork is pretty much all no good.. The front axle has a lower pivot pin sheared off .. The interior is dusty but in good shape.. The engine and trans etc is great.. Naturally running when rolled...we looked all around the vehicle and I was really tempted as I would love to take all the running gear and switch it onto my truck and have one kick ass truck..everything is there to swap over.. Also has the safari tank mounted in the right rear wheel well...and an arb?? Fridge slide.. This truck is located in baja california and I would say the best thing to do would be to drive down in a box truck and spend 2-3 days parting it out and then drive back into the USA with everything minus the body and frame...I can send pics to anyone interested.. Price is $8000.. No paperwork or keys but not going to need it anyway as the complete truck can't come into the USA ..

If it is 2010, it is not a Td5. You mean a Puma? Where in Baja?

That's going to be a puma. You'll want to take the whole enchilada to avoid missing some part.

Yes.. It does have the puma hood.. And that's what makes this a good deal for someone wanting to do the ultimate conversion and stay land rover.. Everything is there.. Scrap the frame and body (should get a good deal for the aluminum alone)..and take everything else... Wiring.. Exhaust.. Computers.. Dash.. Whole drivetrain.. Make your legal defender into a 2010... Truck is located in central Baja..2 days leisurely drive south of the border.. One day if you want to just get there..

rent a box van, drive 2-days into cartel country, find a garage that will break it/part it for you, load your truck van to the gills and drive two days back to the border ('cause a box truck driven by gringos headed north over the border won't attract any suspicion at all) and build a Puma.

What could possibly go wrong here?

if you don't get kidnapped, robbed or shaken down at the border it sounds like a great opportunity.

Maybe Neil could be a security escort with his gun turret mounted on his Series truck?

No shit.....something like:

"Hey I have a 2010 D110 it is sitting in a field in Mexico - some idiot from Australia rolled it and went home...but I reckon you could part it out and get it back across the border...only costs $8K - we will take all forms of USD cash only - paid in advance ... oh and I can not guarantee you can:
(a) get it out of the field - you know cartels, farmers, locals may want ownership of it (b)find some roadside shop to part it out
(c) dispose of frame or body as they are worthless piles of shit
(d) get it past customs on the border ... cause ya know it is California and much easier to be deceptive to these guys versus those knuckleheads in the east coast ports..."

DOOOOD! Surfs up!

Baja is quite different.
