I just want the 4.2 chip. I will happily give up a D-90 chip for it.

What's special about the 4.2 chip?
I have a PROM burner if it's worth copying it...

The 4.2 chip is a better chip all around for our 3.9L...so I've been told.

It also works on a 4.6 D-90 conversion.

crap...now you spark my interest so not to be confused (which is my current state of being) a 4.2 ECU is better for a 3.9L d-90.
Thank you!

That's what I was told by a LR Mechanic in Jersey and have read old threads here as well.

well pluck my chicken. I am going to keep my eyes open for one. I think I saw a 1992 classic with a 4.2L in the junkyard about 2 weeks ago...darn should have grabbed it.

Curious, I too have a 4.2 14cux and I'm wondering where in the sticker does it specifically identify itself as a 4.2 instead of a 3.9 chip? Mine says AMR1423 80392A, Date Code 3492. Thanks.
